Materials Provided

  • Course notebook with a hard copy of all lectures provided at the beginning of the course.  Format is 3 slides on the left side with room for notes on the right.
  • Online access to recorded lectures, virtual classroom and homework for one year from the course start date.
  • One year Premium Membership to the Bowen EHS Resource Center (commencing on the start date of the course).
  • An exam-approved TI-30XS Multiview™ calculator. All in-class work will be done with this calculator.

ABIH / BCSP Points

The ABIH has approved this course for 6.68 CM (Certification Maintenance) points.  The course is available for 4.18 COC (Continuance of Certification) points through the BCSP.

Syllabus

Our philosophy on exam preparation is to be sure students understand the fundamental issues in each subject.  The exam is tough.  Students prepared to answer the fundamental questions can devote more time to the advanced questions on each subject.  Student experience provides the knowledge to answer more advanced questions. 

Lectures are held two (2) times per week and last 2 hours each. Days and times are listed below and follow Daylight Savings Time for the US, Canada and Mexico.  All times are listed in Eastern Time Zone, USA.  Please see the calendar for specific times and days.

Recorded sessions are always available to view and/or download in case you miss or want to review a particular subject, for up to one full year from the course start date. (Access to recordings can be extended beyond one year for a $50 convenience fee.) Course Objectives

Participants successfully completing the ASP/CSP Online Review Course should be able to achieve a score of 70% or better on the comprehensive final exam administered at the end of the online review course.

In addition to achieving a score of 70% or better on the ASP/CSP Online Review Course final exam, participants should expect to be able to pass the fundamentals and comprehensive safety exams administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) provided they sit for the exam within 1 year of completing the course

Successful completion of a BCSP exam is not required to receive a certificate of completion.

Prerequisites

Students will benefit the most from this class if they have: 

  1. completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a physical science, engineering, or health and safety program, and
  2. at least 4 years professional experience in the health and safety field.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) requires candidates to have completed at least a 2-year degree in Safety or a 4-year degree in any subject from an accredited institution. For more information, see BCSP Application Guidelines.

Completion Requirements

Students are required to complete the following list of items within 30 days after the course ends to receive a certificate of completion for the course: 

  1. Listen to each of the 16 lectures (participate live or review recorded lectures)
  2. Submit all homework assignments
  3. Score at least a 70% or higher on the multiple choice final exam.

Students who do not meet the completion requirements will receive a certificate of participation.

Guarantee

If you meet the conditions below and do not pass your exam, you may repeat the online course at no cost provided the course is offered and space is available.  Conditions:

  1. You must complete the course.
  2. You must take the exam within 12 months of completing the online course.
  3. You must mail a copy of your exam results notification to Bowen EHS, Inc. within 30 days of receiving the results.
