CIH Exam Workshop Print E-mail

These workshops are modeled after our successful online review courses for the CIH exam.

The workshops are offered for those who prefer a short intense course provided in a traditional classroom environment.

Materials Provided

  • Course notebook with a hard copy of all lectures provided at the beginning of the course.  Format is 3 slides on the left side with room for notes on the right.
  • Lunch is provided unless specified otherwise in the workshop listing. (See Dates and Registration.)
  • An exam-approved TI-30XS Multiview™ calculator. All in-class work will be done with this calculator. 
  • Recorded lectures to download and review after the workshop.

ABIH / BCSP Points

Our courses meet the requirements for ABIH CM hours and BCSP COC points.  

ABIH has previously awarded CM credit for this event.  The current event contains 28 hours which can be claimed for CM (Certification Maintenance) credit.  

The BCSP provides 4.0 COC (Continuance of Certification) points.

Course Objectives

Participants will complete a comprehensive review course consisting of relevant topics included on the CIH exam administered by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH). Participants successfully completing the CIH Exam Workshop should expect to be able to pass the comprehensive industrial hygiene exam administered by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) provided they sit for the exam within 1 year of completing the course.

Successful completion of the ABIH comprehensive industrial hygiene exam is not required to receive a certificate of completion.

Prerequisites

Participants will benefit the most from this class if they have:

  1. completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a physical science, engineering, or health and safety program, and
  2. have at least 4 years professional experience in the health and safety field.

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) requires candidates to have completed a 4-year degree in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or sanitary engineering, physics or an ABET accredited program in industrial hygiene or safety is required.  For more information, see ABIH Guidelines.

Guarantee

If you meet the conditions below and do not pass your exam, you may take the online course at no cost provided the course is offered and space is available.  Conditions:

  1. You must complete the course.
  2. You must take the exam within 12 months of completing the workshop.
  3. You must mail a copy of your exam results notification to Bowen EHS, Inc. within 30 days of receiving the results.

Support continues well beyond the course.  We continue to answer questions and help with your studies beyond the completion of the course.  Our goal is to help you succeed.
