COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course students will be able to:
- solve most fundamental industrial hygiene problems
- recognize common occupational health hazards
- describe appropriate controls for common occupational health hazards
- select professional industrial hygiene reference materials
PRE-REQUISITES
Students will benefit the most from this class if they have:
- completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a physical science, engineering, or health and safety program, and
- at least 4 years professional experience in the health and safety field.
The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) requires candidates to have completed a 4-year degree in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or sanitary engineering, physics or an ABET
accredited program in industrial hygiene or safety is required. See the ABIH website (www.ABIH.org) for details.
