One year ago, I took the CIH exam to renew my certification. Fortunately, I passed the exam on my first attempt.
This year, I need to recertify as a CSP and I'm planning to do the same thing. It's been 18 years since I took the CSP exam and it's time to see if I still have what it takes.
As with the CIH exam, I am curious! There've been quite a few changes since I last sat in the CSP exam chair. We are fortunate to hear back from clients on a regular basis and that helps us keep up with those changes. However, I think it's important to have first-hand experience with the exams. Will I be able to pass without the equation sheet?
Even though I've been teaching the ASP/CSP review course for over 10 years now and many of our clients have successfully passed the exam, it's time I put myself in their shoes and see if perhaps there are things we can do better. I'll be sure to share my experience with our instructors so we can continue to improve our courses and provide our clients what they need to be successful with their certification exams.
On exam day, I plan to use the test-taking tips we give our clients: eat a healthy breakfast, keep calm, skip all of the math problems the first time through; and work the easiest questions first. Once I'm finished, I'll probably close my eyes, take a deep breath, and hit the complete button.
I will be sure to write another musing about my experience and results!
