Taking EHS Data Analysis to the Next Dimension-Part 1
Our ability to collect and store EHS data continues to grow exponentially. Our ability to prepare, integrate and analyze data, however, stagnates in comparison. During this two-part webinar series, we will review the basic skills necessary to complete a small data science project, and generate richer insights using your EHS data. It is designed for those with a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, and whose organizations do not have dedicated data scientists to support integration and analysis of EHS data. During Part 1 we will use Microsoft Excel to review data structures and types, filtering data, and discuss database theory.
This webinar is a 1-hour lecture and 30 minutes of Q&A.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Describe some of the most common data structures and types.
- Demonstrate some of the most common methods for cleaning and filtering data in Microsoft Excel.
- Describe basic concepts of database theory, including third normal form.
- Create a relational database with up to two many-to-many relationships in Microsoft Excel.
