Benzene - Ubiquitous and Useful
Benzene is one of the top ten chemicals produced in the United States. Benzene exposure has been shown to increase the risk of leukemia and lymphoma and may compromise a person's immune system. Although benzene emissions have decreased in the US since federal regulators lowered the occupational exposure limit in 1987, many occupations still expose workers to benzene, and benzene is prevalent in the environment. During this webinar, you will learn about benzene's characteristics, its effects on human health, and discuss historical and current issues with benzene including the worst gas release in US history.
This webinar is a 1-hour lecture and 30 minutes of Q&A.
