Case Studies in Advanced IH Sampling Plans
OSHA and NIOSH provide sampling methods for many chemical contaminants. These are proven sampling strategies that ensure a thorough evaluation of the contaminant. However, what do you when there isn’t a standard method?
As an Industrial Hygienist, you will need to design your own plan. To help you understand how to do so, we will review case studies and discuss the skills needed to create a fundamentally sound sampling plan even when there is no OSHA or NIOSH sampling method. The case studies will address the steps in creating a plan, what the plan should include, and the challenges with creating an effective and efficient sampling plan.
This webinar is a 1-hour lecture and 30 minutes of Q&A.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Show where they would find existing OSHA or NIOSH sampling method for the chemical of concern.
- List the challenges associated with creating a sampling plan for chemicals that do not have a common laboratory analysis method.
- List important factors for selecting the correct media.
- List when a sampling plan should include sampling for a chemical’s by-products.
