Applying the BGC and BCSP Codes of Ethics
The Board for Global EHS Credentialing-ABIH (BGC-ABIH) and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals(BCSP) require that Certified Industrial Hygienists(CIHs), Associate Safety Professionals(ASPs), and Certified Safety Professionals(CSPs) follow their professional codes of ethics. Aspiring certificants must study the codes and be prepared to respond to questions about them on the certification exams. Why are ethics important to the certification boards? How can certificants carry the codes into their professional lives? We will answer these questions as we go through the Codes of Ethics for both boards and then review several ethical situations you may encounter as an OESH professional.
This webinar is a 1-hour lecture.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- List the BGC (ABIH) Code of Ethics
- List the BCSP Code of Ethics
- Explain why consistent ethics standards are important to safety professionals
- Apply the BGC(ABIH) and BCSP codes of ethics situations which may be encountered by safety professionals in the field
