Environmental Awareness

Environmental Awareness

Presented: Mar 14, 2023  Available until: Mar 31, 2024

Does your organization:

  • Store, dispose of, generate, transport, or treat hazardous waste?
  • Emit air pollutants?
  • Deal with electronic or universal waste?
  • Have a large facility or project affected by rainwater runoff?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you are required to comply with environmental regulations as outlined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Health and Safety Organization (OSHA), and Department of Transportation (DOT). Staying in compliance with environmental regulations can save time and money and help you avoid civil and possibly even criminal penalties, including jail time.

Pursuant to the abovementioned rules, EHS professionals should understand their environmental responsibilities, build the skills and knowledge to address environmental issues and be prepared to address environmental emergencies before they occur.

During this webinar, we will review several environmental issues that an EHS professional should be aware of and prepared to deal with and discuss the measures you can take to comply with the regulations.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply regulations within their environmental scope to manage risk
  2. Manage solid wastes, universal waste, electronic waste, stormwater, and air emissions
  3. Prepare for a chemical spill
  4. Follow waste transportation requirements
  5. Discuss the impact of HazCom and GHS on their workplace
