Presented: Feb 21, 2023 Available until: Feb 29, 2024
Reports of Legionnaire's disease to the CDC continue to grow year after year. The importance of implementing a water management program to reduce the risk of Legionella is on the rise as well. OESH professionals should know how to design a water management program to identify hazardous conditions and take steps to minimize the growth and transmission of Legionella and other waterborne pathogens in building water systems. Such programs are now an industry standard for many buildings in the United States.
During this webinar, Dr. Daniel Farcas, Ph.D., CIH, CSP will discuss the health risks associated with exposure to Legionella, review examples of potential risk areas, and teach you how to develop a Water Management Program.
Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify a multidisciplinary water management program team
- Describe the building water system in a graphic flow diagram and written form
- Identify areas where Legionella could grow and spread
- Write a “Hazard and Risk” assessment
- Prepare a periodical testing log
- Develop contingency plans and guidance to implement in the event of a confirmed Legionella case.
