Learn how to manage projects more effectively from start to finish in this practical webinar on the fundamentals of project management.
Projects differ from ongoing operations because they have a defined beginning, end, and purpose. Yet many organizations manage projects the same way they manage routine work, leading to inefficiencies, missed deadlines, and misalignment with organizational goals.
This webinar will explain the key differences between projects and continuing operations, including when each approach is appropriate. Participants will explore the full project management process, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closing. We will also cover the major components of each phase, practical tools and techniques for managing projects, and emerging issues in the field of project management.
By understanding how to apply a structured project management process, participants will be better equipped to keep projects on track, use resources efficiently, and support their organization’s broader strategic goals.
Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain what makes a project a project
- Describe the difference between a project and continuing operations
- Summarize the 5 phases of the project management process
- Make use of the project management outline in their own lives
- Utilize project management tools and resources
- Analyze emerging issues in the field of project management
- Manage cost, time, scope, risk, and other aspects unique to projects
