Presented: Sep 28, 2023 Available until: Sep 30, 2024
Evidence collected by NIOSH indicates that industrial hygienists (IHs) make inaccurate and underestimated exposure judgments when relying on professional judgment and rudimentary analysis. The use of simple, freely available statistical tools and Bayesian Decision Analysis can substantially increase IHs’ exposure judgment accuracy. This webinar will teach the core concepts and approaches associated with statistically supported exposure decision analysis. The content presented in this webinar will be a distillation of the concepts covered in AIHA’s free “Making Accurate Exposure Risk Decisions” webinar.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Describe why statistical tools are important for making accurate exposure judgments.
- Describe AIHA risk categories and 3 basic rules of thumb for increasing the accuracy of exposure judgments.
- Apply strategies to make exposure judgments using statistical analysis and example exposure data.
